The 1606-XLS480E belongs to the Performance Switched Mode Power Supply that manufactured by Allen-Bradley that is primarily used for providing reliable 24VDC output with a power boost of 150% with a reduced physical dimension compared to the XLP series. It may be used with buffer module to enable short boost function and buffer load currents used in the event of main faults, load peaks and switching events.
Power supply are typical components installed inside a control panel that is used to energized a variety of devices such as electrical components particularly pilot lamps, relay, indicating lamps or electronic devices such as indicators, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) power module or Human Machine Interface (HMI) devices.
The 1606-XLS480E is designed with long lasting electrolytic capacitors to reduce ripple voltage. It has an user friendly and easy to understand front panel labels and terminals use spring clamp technology. It has Two (2) + 24VDC and Two (2) – 0VDC terminals with one DC-OK output for monitoring the power supply module’s output voltage. It has an integral potentiometer for adjusting the output voltage up to 28VDC an Two (2) LED indicators for providing DC OK feedback and Overload Feedback. The input terminal is located at the bottom of the module with a ground terminal.
The 1606-XLS480E is capable of being installed with a redundancy module operate in 1+1 configuration for components that require an increased availability. Compared to XLE series, this power supply is slightly larger but smaller compared to the XLP series however, it provides an increased power boost amounting to 150%.
