The 1794-IRT8XT module has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley in its FLEX I/O series as a thermocouple, RTD, and millivolt input module. The 1794-IRT8XT module is a newer model in the Allen-Bradley FLEX I/O module series. It should not be used in industrial settings that have corrosive atmospheres and large amounts of liquids because it does not come with a protective conformal coating. This module has 8 analog inputs. It can accept millivolt source inputs, thermocouple inputs, and 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire RTD inputs.
The Allen-Bradley 1794-IRT8XT FLEX I/O module comes with useful operating features like support for long thermocouple wiring, support for grounded and ungrounded thermocouples, a good common mode rejection function, and detection for over-range, under-range, and wire-off situations. It has isolation between the user 24 Volts DC voltage source and the user I/O as well as between the user side and the system side of the module. The Series B module will be accepted on the Series A module’s terminal base without triggering an “electronic key mismatch warning” as long as the module is being used with the ControlNet, Ethernet/IP, and Remote I/O communication networks.
