The 2711-B5A8L1 is a PanelView 550 Standard Operator Terminal or more popularly known as a Human Machine Interface (HMI). This rugged, scalable and compact electronic device allows process operators and machine user to monitor, control, and analyze operation via the embedded display and input interfaces of the device. By using the 2711-B5A8L1 to an application, operation is simplified, centralized, control response is improved and increases system uptime, preventing loss of productivity.

The 2711-B5A8L1 is a 24VDC powered Human Machine Interface, as depicted by the “L1”suffix in the device’ catalog number. Operator views the process via the 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 256 x 128 pixels. It also has Two (2) embedded communication ports, intended for Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication and RS232 for alarm printing capability. With Data Highway Plus (DH+), high-speed data exchange may be implemented over 3-conductor cable with catalog number 1770-CD or Belded 9463 communication cable.

The 2711-B5A8L1 PanelView 550 has Ten (10) Function keys (F1 to F10) assignable to a variety of commands and actions while the touchscreen interface allow direct interaction to runtime objects. The input interfaces are designed for up to 1 million actuations. The terminal’s display screen is also provided with a removal backlight. The pre-built backlight however, has an expected operation lifespan of 100,000 hrs.
