The Allen-Bradley 1746-OB16 is a Discrete output module that is compatible with for use with the SLC500 product family. This module features Sixteen (16) 24VDC output channels that is used to energize electrical devices for implementing manual and automatic control of the process or machines.

The 1746-OB16P is a single slot module that fits to any slot of an SLC500 chassis except the leftmost module which is reserved for the processor or communication module. The 1746-OB16P has a backplane current draw of 0.250 A at 5VDC and 0 A at 24VDC. It has an OFF state leakage current of 1 mA and load current of 1 mA. Eacu channel has a continuous Current of ) 1.5 A @ 30 °C (86 °F) 1.0 A @ 60 °C (140 °F) and continuous Current per module of 6.4 A @ 0…60 °C (32…140 °F).

The 1746-OB16P does not an output grouping or individual channel isolation. It comes with a single group, compsed of the entire Sixteen (16) channels. Each channel has an ON signal delay of 0.1 ms and OFF signal delay of 1.0 ms with ON-state voltage drop of 1.0V at 1.0 A with surge current per point of 4.0 A at 10 ms and surge current per module of 32.0 A at 10 ms.

The 1746-OB16 SLC 500 Digital DC Output Module by Allen-Bradley is a DC module with sixteen 24V DC outputs and it is lodged in any free slot in the 1746 I/O Chassis. The 1746-OB16 provides voltage isolation between the backplane and the outputs tested at 1500 Volts AC and it has a total heat dissipation of 7.6 Watts. It has a UL-A196, CSA, and C-UL Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Environment ratings, and it is CSA and UL-certified. When operational, the 1746-OB16 has a working temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity surrounding and it is designed to withstand a 30G operational shock and a 2.5G operational vibration at 57 to 200 Hertz.
