netTAP 100 is a protocol converter for complex convertibility, supporting 2-port real-time Ethernet to serial, fieldbus to fieldbus, real-time Ethernet to fieldbus, and real-time Ethernet to Ethernet. It supports any combination of slave and master functions. In the case of authorization, the functions of the master station are not restricted.
Memory card slots allow users to save firmware and configuration data on removable boards. In case of failure, simply move the memory board from the old netTAP 100 to the spare unit and the device can be brought back online in seconds.
In addition to the standard protocols, netTAP 100 also supports the creation of serial protocols using the Lua-based scripting language netSCRIPT. A full-featured development environment is included in the delivery. The environment allows users to comfortably and quickly program any proprietary serial protocol as well as convert I/O data pre-processing to other field protocols during conversion.
