Kinetix® VP stainless steel motors (Bulletin VPS) are equipped with a multi-turn high-resolution encoder. These compact brushless servo motors meet the unique needs of hygienic manufacturing environments, such as food, beverage, wine, dairy, health and beauty, and pharmaceutical products. Mechanical connections to motor shafts, such as couplings and belts, require torsion-resistant rigid couplings or reinforced timing belts. Over time, the high dynamic performance of the servo motor can cause the coupling, pulley or belt to become loose or slip. Loose or slipping connections can cause system instability and damage the motor shaft. All connections between the machine and the motor shaft must be secure for a satisfactory system response. Check the connection periodically to verify its stability.

Electromagnetic interference (EMI), often referred to as electrical noise, can degrade the performance of a motor. Effective ways to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) include filtering AC power supplies, using shielded cables, separating signal cables from power lines, and using advanced grounding techniques. Avoid EMI effects by following the following guidelines:
• Isolate power transformers or install line filters on all AC input power lines.
• Do not lay a single motor cable above the vent of the servo drive.
• Ground all equipment through a single-point parallel grounding system using ground busbars or large bus bars. If necessary, adopt more electrical noise reduction techniques to reduce EMI in noisy environments.

The motor installation process must comply with local regulations and use equipment and installation methods that improve safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
