The ControlLogix module with part number 1756-PB72 is a ControlLogix Power Supply. This Power Supply is used to provide power to the backplane which is being distributed across the ControlLogix chassis. It is compatible for installation to any Series A, B and C ControlLogix chassis.

The 1756-PB72 requires a nominal input supply of 24VDC. Once power supply is provided, the module can provide output Currents of 4A at 3.3V; 10A at 5.1V and 2.8 A at 24V.

The Power supply module’s installation location is located at the leftmost part of the chassis. Any ControlLogix chassis is provided with Power Supply insertion slot which does not take up any slot in the module. This power supply module is installed along with the chassis directly on the mounting plate, fixed in position by the provided mounting holes. As the chassis and this power supply module directly contacts the mounting plate, it is highly recommended that the ground terminals of the chassis and the power supply are properly connected.

As this is a DC power supply, wire terminal is already provided with the unit. This terminal is accessible once the cover door is popped-out. The terminals have clear markings such as DC+ for the positive supply and DC- for the negative supply return. The protective earth is recommended for attaching to the chassis ground or ground bus.

This power supply is provided with a simple status indicator to visually report the operation of the module. It has a single LED light installed at the upper right section of the module.
