REM620 Motor protection measurement and control device, as a special motor protection device, in the manufacturing and processing industry, specially used to protect, control, measure and monitor large and medium-sized asynchronous motors requiring differential protection. Typically, in driver applications, motor protection devices are used with medium-voltage motors controlled by circuit breakers or contactors, as well as large and medium low-voltage motors controlled by contactors. These drivers include asynchronous motor drivers that operate continuously or intermittently with various loads.
The REM620 motor protection measurement and control device is available in single and double bus configurations, each bus configuration has one or two circuit breakers and multiple switch equipment configurations. The device supports a large number of manual and electric isolation switches and ground switches. The number of controllable devices depends on the input and output requirements of other applications. The amount of available I/O is increased according to the needs of ABB’s RIO600 remote I/O device.
The REM620 motor protection measurement and control unit features support for the substation IEC61850 communication standard, covering longitudinal and horizontal communication, GOOSE messages with switching signals and analog signals, and fixed setting based on IEC 61850-8-1. The device also supports DNP3, IEC 60870-5-103, and Modbus® protocols. The REM620 provides an optional Ethernet port for redundant Ethernet without delay or a self-healing RSTP communication in ring networks in the event of a communication failure via PRP or HSR protocols. This solution eliminates the single point of failure and improves communication reliability. The solution can be used for Ethernet-based IEC 61850, Modbus® and DNP3 protocols.
